LEAKED EMAIL 3/25/2012
Subject: New Marketing Contingencies for Major Distributor Q3 2012:
Just heard this Harv, had to forward it to you-
An innovative new marketing campaign is being implemented by a yet to be divulged major network. Instead of committing to an expensive pilot without having enough confidence in its audience, they are releasing a web-reality series where actors read through the rough drafts of a 12 episode sci-fi series called The Insight Company.
Here is the leaked pitch that got the idea green-lit:
Hollywood collapses when sequels, prequels, and remakes aren’t enough for audiences any longer, and originality has become a myth. In the face of an original thought vacuum, a new storytelling medium arises: dream recording. Everyday people can become celebrities as the top dreamers. The companies that record and edit those dreams grow out-of-control powerful. The Insight Company follows thetitular, underdog, dream manufacturer as it tries to compete with the monopolizing DreamView Studios.
Imagine a futuristic celebrity examination where you actually care about the stars, or in this case lunas, because you are with them when their lives are manipulated, distorted, and ultimately owned by their dream producers and editors.
The dream companies have dreamers for every genre. They sell their waking states as well, packaging them as“histories”. The Insight Company explores how when signing on to be a dreamer, the whole mind is forfeited.
There you have it. I might be crazy, but this idea seems theme park worthy.People as genres: I'm in. Here is the mysterious site they've posted: TheInsightCompany.Webs.com and you can follow@Dream2Movie
